Projects I worked on and completed in university

Why I Love Thee? by Sadakichi HartmannFor this kinetic typography project, I chose the poem Why I Love Thee by Sadakichi Hartmann. I mainly chose this particular one because the content and emotions that the poet portrayed spoke to me deeply even though his words weren't straightforward when it came to expressing his sentiments. I wanted my motion graphic to give off a calming and relaxing atmosphere, and I chose a lo-fi beat to accompany that. The illustrations that I included was my effort in alluding to sort of a dream world where two people who care deeply about one another can meet.

My Melancholy BabyA series of illustrations capturing aesthetics of the retro Las Vegas scene. These were done for a motion graphic project that I was working on.
I mainly wanted to capture a feel of the 1950s Vegas setting, including what objects you might find belonging to the people of that time. For the motion graphic itself, I positioned each set of items into a Polaroid, pinning them onto a crime scene map and connecting them with red threads. |

Ocean ConservationFor my motion graphic, I really wanted to focus on ocean conservation in a positive and fun way. Rather than scaring people into taking action, I wanted to apply a friendly call-to-action approach that’ll motivate people to think twice about how they’re disposing of their plastic waste and what they can do to make a difference in society.
I put together a lot of vectorized artwork to depict the facts, challenges, and solutions that come with this issue, and the overall goal was just to inspire others to be the change they want to see in the world. |
CSS Zen GardenCSS Zen Garden (by Dave Shea) is a demonstration of what can be achieved through simply editing the CSS. The HTML is already premade, and the design element is up to the coder as it is the only element they are allowed to edit.

I worked alongside a classmate in order to redesign this website for the nonprofit organization and bring it more in-line with their branding. |
